UMX Pro or ST series: two ways to build a 100-litre cleaner
The ST series is a floor tank with a separate generator cabinet; the UMX Pro is a cabinet with everything inside and a digital control panel. Same physics, different shop. Where each fits, with the overlapping models compared.
Technical guide. Figures are taken from our own spec tables; for your process we confirm the settings with a cleaning trial.

Between 50 and 255 litres two of our series overlap. A buyer with a 90-litre requirement can have an ST-96 or a UMX Pro 88L, and the specification sheet alone does not say which. The difference is in how the machine lives in the shop.

Two things stand out. The ST tanks are shallower and wider for their volume, and the standard ST basket takes almost the full length and width of the tank but only part of its depth: 200 mm in the ST-96, 260 mm in the ST-206. The UMX Pro tanks are deeper; their useful basket space is smaller than the tank in length and width because the filtration return and the basket frame take room, but it keeps 400 to 420 mm of depth. And the UMX is taller: the cabinet holds the generator, the controls and the optional filtration under and beside the tank, so the working height is that of a bench.
Choose the ST series when
- The part is wide and flat and needs the full floor: the ST-96's 580 × 380 mm basket floor beats the UMX Pro 88L's 470 × 320 mm.
- The bath runs hot and hard: 4 to 10 kW heating to 110 °C, for soak stages on carbon and baked oil.
- The generator should be away from the tank, in a dry cabinet on the wall, with the tank in a wet area.
- The basket goes in and out by hoist, or the tank will later be part of a wash-rinse-dry row with a shared lift.
- The purchase is one tank now and a lift or a line later; the ST tank dimensions match the AL series.
Choose the UMX Pro when
- The machine stands in a workshop, laboratory or service department where a floor tank with a separate cabinet is awkward.
- Different operators run different programmes: the digital panel stores cycles with time, temperature, frequency and degas per part family.
- Sweep and degas must be standard, not an option to remember.
- Filtration is wanted but there is no room for a stand-alone loop: the module fits in the cabinet.
- The parts are compact and heavy rather than wide: the deep tank takes a gearbox standing up.
What is the same
Tank material, AISI 304 at 2 mm. Transducer type and power per transducer, 60 W. Dual frequency. Baskets with rails. The cleaning result on a given part with the same chemistry, temperature and time is the same in either; the power density is 15 W per litre on the ST-96 and 16 on the UMX Pro 88L.
The rest of the two ranges
The ST series runs from 40 to 400 litres in eight steps; the UMX Pro from 50 to 255 litres in five. Below 50 litres only the ST-40 and the benchtop STS range exist; above 255 litres only the ST-300, ST-400 and the AL and AU systems. The benchtop or industrial article covers the lower boundary and the lift systems article the upper.
